Everyone’s “terrible twos” stage involved toys like dolls, cars, and Play-Doh because, you know, that’s just what every child that age is entertained by…or so you’d think. Two-year-old Jaxon Miller, though, is definitely not your average toddler. His favorite thing to play with is an Instant Pot.
His total fascination with the kitchen product stemmed from his parents always forgetting to remove it from its box and put it to use. “My husband and I were gifted an Instant Pot from his parents, and like so many other Instant Pot users, it sat in a box, not open for months,” his mother Kristyn Miller told The Kitchn.
When the day finally came that Miller decided to try out the cooking device (it was a Facebook Instant Pot Community Group that opened her eyes to a world of recipes she never knew she achieve otherwise), Jaxon immediately loved it. The beeping sounds and the shriek noise that the pressure release made was what first excited him. And once he started to play with it more, he would press the buttons and pretend like he was whippin’ something up.
So when his birthday came along, Miller knew she had to get a cake that looked like an Instant Pot…and she didn’t disappoint. Look at it! With the labeled buttons! And everything! Best mom ever award? I think yes! She even made sure the “timer” on the cake symbolized his age and the year. It’s unclear where exactly this Mom of the Year got the cake from, but, boy, did she nail it.
